VISA
BRAND MOTION
Visa is so much more than a credit card company; it’s a network that facilitates billions of transactions and creates connections between people, businesses, governments and places all around the world. Those connections became the support and core principles for the motion behavior of the brand. This motion system was built in collaboration with Gerard Mallandrich alongside Mucho’s take on the ubiquitous brand new identity.
The mark and symbol transition showcases how relevant both are in the new brand. In some physical applications it lives alongside haptic and audible feedback, transforming it into a functional signal that let users know when their request has been completed.
The new Visa identity rescued and revamped the blue, white, and yellow Brand Symbol. This brought layout opportunities that became an integral part of the system, where the thirds break up compositions as they echo the symbol bars.
The transitions and slides highlight the core behaviors of the motion brand. The system is flexible enough to show how changing the direction of the movement creates variety and richness within the identity.
Commissioned and designed by Forma and drawn by Ricard Jorge, many of the icons contain the Visa symbol as part of their construction, a visual hook that brings together function and personality.
In order for this new system to reach every application, we developed a manual that guides internal designers through the implementation of the new moving identity.
